  • 1 15.25-ounce box yellow cake mix
  • 1 3.4-ounce box banana cream instant pudding mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 whole eggs

Filling

  • 3 bananas
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

Frosting

Garnish

  • 1 cup crushed vanilla wafers

Instructions

Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350°, prepare a 9x13 cake pan with spray oil and flour.
  2. Combine the cake mix, pudding mix, mayonnaise, and water into a large bowl; mix together, adding 1 egg at a time.
  3. Beat for 2 minutes.
  4. Pour batter into the cake pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean.
  5. Allow cake to thoroughly cool before spreading on the filling and frosting.

Filling

  1. Peel bananas and mash them with a fork in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Mix in sugar.
  3. Spread filling over cooled cake.

Frosting

  1. Empty the mix into a large bowl, pour boiling water into the bowl and mix on high to get stiff peaks formed; that will take 5-7 minutes while scraping the bowl every couple of minutes.
  2. Spread frosting over the filling, covering the cake completely.

Garnish

Sprinkle cake with crushed vanilla wafers and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
